Website Designer

Job Summary

The Website Designer is responsible for designing custom websites, prototyping within a WordPress environment, and refining designs based on client feedback. This role works closely with the Project Manager and Technical Director to ensure designs align with client expectations, brand guidelines, and modern web trends.
In addition to design, the Website Designer will build complete websites using provided content and sitemaps, handle basic site edits and new page creation, and assist with general website management tasks.
Beyond these responsibilities, the Website Designer is expected to contribute to team growth by enhancing processes, assisting in training Jr. Website Designers, and identifying opportunities for team improvement.
This is a low-code role, with most development work being done using Pro Theme and Cornerstone within WordPress.

Key Responsibilities

Website Design (35%)

  • Design visually appealing, user-friendly web pages that align with client branding and design standards.
  • Develop engaging digital experiences that follow modern web design principles.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to refine designs based on client feedback.
  • Work exclusively on internal design tasks, without direct client presentations.

Website Development & Management (50%)

  • Prototype website designs within WordPress using Pro Theme and Cornerstone.
  • Build fully functional websites using provided content and sitemaps.
  • Assist with website updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement site edits, create new pages, and respond to client support requests.

Process Improvement & Training (5%)

  • Contribute to team development by identifying process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Assist in training and mentoring Jr. Website Designers.

Client Support (5%)

  • Respond to client inquiries through the ticketing system.
  • Document all client interactions and updates within the ticketing system for internal reference.
  • Occasionally schedule online meetings with client to clarify support requests.

Professional Development (5%)

  • Stay up to date with web design trends, WordPress advancements, and best practices.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance training (if applicable).
  • Participate in ongoing training in UX/UI best practices, accessibility (WCAG standards), and SEO for web design.
